Granting a Wish: Robert's Special Day with Cows at Jefferson Healthcare Center
July 2, 2024
We were deeply honored to grant Robert Graham, a longtime dairy farmer and one of our beloved residents under hospice care, his final wish of reconnecting with cows. Yesterday, the parking lot of Jefferson Health Care Center turned into a mini-farm as two beautiful 4-H dairy feeder project cows were brought in by Rebecca Dawson and Kylie Fuentes.
With the help of the Ashtabula County Cattlemen’s Association and Bella Care Hospice, we were able to create a magical moment for Robert, who has been with us for two years. Watching him meet the young calves was a touching experience for all of us. His wife, Anna Mae, shared how much it meant for Robert to see the animals he loves so dearly.
At Jefferson Healthcare Center, our mission goes beyond providing care. We strive to fulfill our residents' unique wishes through our Celebrate Life program, whether it’s attending a graduation, celebrating a birthday, or in Robert’s case, spending a day with cows. It was heartwarming to see not only Robert but also our other residents, enjoy the interaction with the cows, creating cherished memories.
We are grateful for the support and collaboration that made this special day possible. Thank you to everyone involved in making Robert’s day unforgettable.
